Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or CVOR Tech certification required
• Previous experience in cardiovascular or operating room setting preferred
• Proficient understanding of aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and respond promptly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and ancillary staff
• BLS certification; additional life-support certifications are a plus
• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, organize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment specific to cardiovascular procedures
• Support surgeons and nurses during complex cardiovascular operations, ensuring all tools are sterile and readily available
• Monitor and maintain a safe, sterile environment throughout the procedure
• Assist with patient positioning and transport as needed
• Participate in surgical counts of sponges, instruments, and needles according to policy
• Communicate clearly with the operating team to anticipate needs and resolve issues swiftly
• Help with post-procedure clean-up and restocking to maintain orderly workflow
