Seeking a skilled professional to support cardiovascular surgical teams in a dynamic clinical environment. This opportunity focuses on delivering exceptional care and technical assistance in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), providing expertise in sterile technique, instrumentation, and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the CVOR before, during, and after procedures, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are ready.
  • Assist surgeons and the clinical team by anticipating needs during cardiovascular procedures.
  • Handle and care for surgical instruments and specialized equipment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile field protocol and aseptic technique.
  • Monitor and help manage patient safety throughout the perioperative phase.
  • Collaborate closely with RNs and physicians for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document operative procedures and instrument counts accurately.
  • Support the team in emergency situations, responding quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical technology and relevant best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a CVOR Technician or completion of an accredited surgical technology program with CVOR experience required.
  • Previous experience supporting cardiovascular surgical teams preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with surgical instrumentation, CVOR workflows, and infection prevention practices.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems a plus.
