COVR Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician | Gastonia, North Carolina

A specialized opportunity awaits for an experienced CVOR Tech skilled in cardiovascular operating room procedures. This contract position is ideal for professionals seeking impactful work in a dynamic surgical environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• On-call requirement: 4-5 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Weekend and holiday calls rotate among team members
• Holiday call or scheduled work may be required in rotation
• No floating to other units required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, with CVOR specialization preferred
• Proven experience as a CVOR Tech in a high-volume surgical setting
• Strong understanding of cardiovascular instruments, surgical protocols, and sterile technique
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Excellent critical thinking and communication abilities
• Flexibility to accommodate rotating on-call and weekend requirements
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and detail-oriented in fast-paced surgical scenarios

Role Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field for all cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations, maintaining strict adherence to protocols
• Handle and account for CVOR instruments and supplies with precision
• Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate with perioperative support staff
• Ensure proper documentation of procedures and maintain clear, accurate patient records
• Participate in rotating on-call support according to schedule requirements
• Uphold rigorous infection control and patient safety standards throughout every shift
