Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate or diploma from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), preferably with CVOR specialty.
- Previous experience working as a CVOR Tech or similar surgical technologist role.
- Comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular operating room procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to anticipate surgeon’s needs and respond to evolving intraoperative situations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and inventory cardiovascular-specific surgical instruments and supplies.
- Assist the surgical team during CVOR procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields.
- Adhere strictly to infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor equipment functionality and support troubleshooting when necessary.
- Document operative procedures and related patient data accurately.
