COVR Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician - Hazard, Kentucky

Seeking a skilled professional to play a vital role in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with a primary focus on assisting surgeons during cardiovascular procedures. In this contract position, you will collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, and fellow technologists to uphold the highest standards of patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certified Surgical Technologist or relevant CVOR Tech certification required
• Previous experience in a cardiovascular operating room strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation for cardiac procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Demonstrated reliability and comfort working in high-pressure settings
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred

Schedule/Hours:

• Flexible schedule opportunities may be available depending on staffing needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments and supplies specific to cardiovascular procedures
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical interventions
• Maintain a sterile environment, ensuring patient safety at every step
• Anticipate and respond to surgeon needs during procedures, handing instruments and supplies quickly and efficiently
• Monitor, account for, and manage surgical instruments throughout each case
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation as directed
• Participate in pre- and post-operative room clean-up and restocking
