Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Tech or equivalent training required
- Proven experience assisting with open-heart or vascular surgeries in a hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, and operating room protocols
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating room and ensure all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, set up, and functioning
- Assist surgeons and nurses during cardiovascular operations, providing the correct instruments and supplies as needed
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and safety protocols at all times
- Monitor and track instrument counts before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety
- Contribute to an efficient workflow by anticipating equipment needs and collaborating closely with the surgical team
- Support postoperative transition and cleaning processes to maintain a safe operating environment
