Key Qualifications:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credentialing in CVOR technology required
- Prior experience working in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, aseptic practices, and operating room protocols
- Proven ability to anticipate surgical team needs in high-pressure scenarios
- Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary surgical teams
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment for cardiovascular procedures
- Assemble and arrange CVOR surgical instruments and supplies prior to each case
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Handle specimens and maintain accurate intraoperative records as directed
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative room preparation and clean-up
- Adhere to safety and infection-control protocols at all times
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to promote coordinated, patient-centered care
