COVR Operating Room Technician (CVOR) in Mckeesport, PA

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Successful completion of a CVOR Tech program or equivalent education
• Current certification as a CVOR Technologist or Surgical Technologist required
• Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting highly desirable
• Proficient in preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment specific to CVOR cases
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare CVOR suite for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are appropriately set up
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during cardiovascular surgical procedures, anticipating needs and providing necessary instruments
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile field protocols
• Monitor, manage, and inventory CVOR-specific surgical supplies and equipment
• Safely handle surgical specimens and assist with documentation requirements
• Support OR turnover by cleaning and restocking as necessary
• Participate in ongoing CVOR and institutional training to maintain up-to-date skills
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to uphold best practices for patient care
