COVR Operating Room Technician (CVOR) - Pittsburgh, PA

Key Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited CVOR Tech or Surgical Technologist program
• Current certification as a CVOR Tech or Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
• At least one year of recent experience in a cardiovascular operating room
• Proficient in cardiovascular surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique
• Strong understanding of aseptic principles and infection control practices
• Excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare the cardiovascular operating room including equipment setup and sterile field arrangement
• Assist surgeons by providing necessary instruments and supplies during procedures
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies throughout surgeries
• Ensure a safe, sterile surgical environment and uphold infection prevention standards
• Respond promptly and competently to the evolving needs of the surgical team during cases
• Support the perioperative team with room turnover and post-procedure cleanup
