COVR Operating Room Technician (CVOR) in Prattville, AL

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for an experienced CVOR Tech with strong nursing support skills. This position focuses on assisting within a dynamic Cardiovascular Operating Room environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes alongside a skilled surgical team.

Schedule:

• 8-hour day shifts
• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CVOR Tech in a clinical setting
• Comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile field protocols
• Current certifications relevant to the role (such as BLS, CVOR/ST certification, or equivalent)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to function efficiently in high-pressure and fast-paced surgical environments
• Collaborative attitude with a strong commitment to patient care and safety

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons during operations as a scrub tech, including passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes or emergencies
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, RNs, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members
• Perform accurate surgical counts, manage specimens, and maintain detailed documentation during procedures
• Contribute to ongoing compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
