COVR Operating Room Technician (CVOR) - San Diego, CA

Exciting opportunity for an experienced CVOR Tech to contribute expertise in a dynamic surgical environment. This position is ideal for a skilled professional looking to work with cardiovascular procedures while also utilizing strong experience in other specialties. This role requires adaptability and technical proficiency to support a high-quality patient care team.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour variable shifts (Start times between 0615-1100)
• Every other weekend: two scheduled shifts
• On-call requirement: 12 hours on weekends and 20 hours on weekdays within a 4-week period (weekend call in addition to scheduled shifts)
• Must have ability to respond within 30 minutes

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years’ experience as a scrub person in a hospital operating setting
• Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program, or equivalent hands-on training and experience
• Scrub Tech Certification preferred
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required
• Strong background assisting with open-heart (cardiac) cases
• Proficient in orthopedics, neurology, and robotic-assisted surgeries for support on general cases when not assigned to cardiac procedures

Responsibilities:

• Assist the surgical team in cardiovascular operating rooms, ensuring sterile technique and safety
• Serve as primary scrub person for cardiac surgeries, with flexibility to cover a variety of general and specialty cases
• Prepare, organize, and maintain operating room instruments and supplies
• Respond efficiently to on-call emergencies with quick turnaround
• Adhere to facility protocols and maintain compliance with safety standards
