Key Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent CVOR Tech certification required
  • Minimum of one year of recent CVOR experience, including scrubbing and assisting duties
  • In-depth knowledge of CVOR equipment, sterile techniques, and protocols
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular instrumentation and procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes surgical environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the CVOR for procedures by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for cardiovascular surgeries
  • Scrub in and assist surgeons, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques at all times
  • Manage and anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Participate in preoperative and postoperative duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with RNs, surgeons, and other surgical support staff
  • Uphold safety, infection control, and best practices throughout all stages of care
