Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT) or Surgical Technician (non-certified)
• Practical knowledge of sterile techniques and infection prevention protocols
• Proficient in the setup, care, and handling of surgical instruments and equipment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and according to established workflows
• High school diploma or equivalent required (completion of a surgical technology program preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring proper sterilization and arrangement of instruments and supplies
• Assist surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia staff during surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile environments throughout surgeries and promptly manage contaminated items
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments and materials efficiently
• Manage the collection and handling of specimens for laboratory analysis
• Assist with inventory control and restocking of surgical supplies
• Support post-procedure clean-up and proper disposal of surgical waste
