Operating Room Technician | Bessemer, Alabama

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience
• Certified or non-certified Surgical Technologist credentials accepted
• Prior experience assisting in an operating room, with knowledge of sterile technique, instruments, and aseptic procedures
• Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures
• Solid communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and surgical supplies before each procedure
• Assist the surgical team throughout operations, anticipating the needs of surgeons and nurses
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment with precision
• Support patient positioning, draping, and transport as needed
• Participate in post-operative room clean-up and equipment restocking
• Accurately document all activities and inventory usage
