Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Proven experience as a Surgical Tech or Operating Room Technician (ORT)
- Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
- Proficient in handling surgical instruments and supplies
- Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities
- BLS certification preferred
- Prior experience in an operating room setting is strongly desired
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons and circulating nurses throughout operations
- Ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are available and functioning
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of surgical staff
- Uphold strict infection control protocols at all times
- Support safe patient positioning and provide intraoperative support
- Manage instrument counts and documentation in compliance with standards
- Collaborate with other members of the surgical and nursing teams
