Operating Room Technician - Brooklyn, MI

Schedule:

• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM CST
• Work three 12-hour shifts plus one on-call shift each week
• Every 6th weekend required
• Contract runs from November 2, 2026, through January 30, 2027

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

• Experience as an Operating Room Technician or Certified Surgical Tech
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program preferred, but not required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready
• Assist surgical teams during operations, anticipating needs to optimize patient care and procedure flow
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures
• Uphold strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, circulating nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safety and efficiency
• Participate in required on-call duties and weekend rotations as scheduled
