Operating Room Technician - Cambridge, MA

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (Certified Surgical Tech) or applicable Nursing degree with ORT experience
• Previous experience in an operating room setting, supporting surgical interventions
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, equipment sterilization, and operating room safety protocols
• Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
• Detail-oriented, adaptable under pressure, and able to respond quickly to changing needs in a surgical environment

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain operating rooms, ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and set up before procedures
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers during operations by handing instruments and supplies
• Monitor and maintain sterile fields throughout surgeries
• Inventory, track, and restock used instruments and surgical supplies
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in compliance with facility protocols
• Participate in pre- and post-operative processes, supporting patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with surgical staff to anticipate needs and provide seamless support during all phases of surgical care
