Operating Room Technician | Charleston, South Carolina

Step into a vital position within a dynamic surgical team by applying your expertise as a Certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician. In this contract role, you’ll collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative professionals to ensure optimal patient care and smooth surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organize the operating room and instruments prior to procedures
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures during operations
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and safety standards
• Monitor and account for all surgical instruments and supplies throughout procedures
• Support surgeons and nursing staff with patient positioning, equipment setup, and intraoperative tasks
• Assist with surgical specimen preparation and care, following established protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical cases and equipment usage
• Participate in pre- and post-operative room turnover and cleaning

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician (ORT)
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required
• BLS certification (current)
• At least one year of recent experience in an acute care OR setting
• Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and composure under pressure

$1,331 - $1,408/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
