Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
  • Demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing and/or operating room technology (ORT)
  • Skilled in maintaining sterile technique and assisting in a variety of surgical procedures
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, safety protocols, and infection control standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to function efficiently in fast-paced situations
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional credentials preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries by ensuring availability of necessary tools and maintaining aseptic conditions
  • Anticipate needs of the surgical team to promote effective, safe, and smooth operations
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments, and ensure proper disposal or sterilization following procedures
  • Collaborate closely with circulating nurses and other OR personnel to optimize patient outcomes
  • Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and facility safety requirements
