We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician with expertise in orthopedics trauma, plastics, and microsurgery. With over 900 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma and Pediatric Trauma designations, and a Magnet-recognized culture, this teaching hospital offers a dynamic setting to grow your skills. You will work alongside a robust multidisciplinary team, including experienced supervisors, charge RNs, and a dedicated anesthesia/CRNA staff.
Schedule & Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week (0700–1900)
- On-call requirement: 1900–2300 late call, once per week
- One weekend call shift every 6–8 weeks (0600 Saturday – 0600 Monday); 1-hour response time
- Rotating holidays (50% coverage expected)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center (Level III or below not accepted)
- Completion of a surgical technologist training program required; certification (CST) preferred
- BLS certification required
- Proficient in ortho trauma, head/neck free flaps, plastics, and microsurgery
- Previous experience with advanced case types such as general, transplant, robotics, neuro, and oncology surgeries
- First-time travelers are not eligible
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub for a diverse caseload including minimally invasive, transplant, neuro, orthopedic, and high-complexity reconstructive surgeries
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and assistants to optimize patient care and surgical outcomes
- Adhere to best practices and safety protocols using EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
- Participate in supportive orientation to ensure successful onboarding
