Operating Room Technician in Charlotte, NC

Advance your clinical career as a Surgical Technologist (Certified) or Operating Room Technician (ORT) working in a dynamic and supportive hospital setting. This is a contract opportunity offering valuable experience in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Schedule:

• 10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week
• Rotating holiday call required (4-5 weekday and possible weekend calls per pay period)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist or ORT
• BLS certification required
• At least 18 months recent experience in a surgical/operating room setting
• Familiarity with standard Med/Tele skills such as cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke experience, trach care, chest tube management, NGT placement, and management of various drains and tubes
• Flexibility to float between multiple units and facilities as needed within your scope of practice
• Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred)
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and functional
• Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, maintaining strict adherence to sterile techniques
• Manage and organize surgical supplies before, during, and after procedures
• Rotate call and holiday coverage as required by department schedule
• Float between units and partner facilities as needed according to staffing needs
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and provide exceptional patient care
