Schedule Details:
- 12-hour day shifts: 0700–1900 (36-hour work week)
- 3–4 weeknight on-call shifts per 6-week schedule (7p–7a)
- 1–2 weekend on-call shifts per 6-week schedule (Sat or Sun, 7a–7p or 7p–7a)
- No standard weekend rotation—call only
- Holiday coverage occurs on a rotating call schedule
- Floating to other units is not required
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Demonstrated nursing expertise in the ORT specialty
- Recent operating room or perioperative experience
- Proven track record of providing direct support to surgical teams
- Solid understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and pre/post-operative processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields
- Assist surgeons and OR staff during procedures
- Ensure accurate instrument, sponge, and equipment counts
- Anticipate surgical team needs and proactively address challenges
- Help maintain a safe surgical environment, adhering to all infection control protocols
- Respond promptly to call-backs for emergent surgical needs
- Participate in on-call rotations, including holidays as scheduled
