Surgical Tech in Chicago, IL

A specialized opportunity awaits experienced Surgical Technologists or Certified Surgical Technicians with a focus on Orthopedic Robotics and Spine Surgery. This contract position involves working in an orthopedic and spine specialty hospital’s busy operating rooms, where precision and speed are critical.

Location:
Situated in Chicago, IL, this role is based at a 111-bed specialty hospital known for advanced orthopedic and spine care. The hospital operates a 20-bed OR suite, typically using 17-18 rooms daily, providing a dynamic and fast-paced environment for surgical teams. Candidates must reside within 30 minutes of the facility for rapid call-back response.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in general, hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine, total joint robotics, and solid spine orthopedic surgeries.
• Facilitate surgeries involving robotic systems such as Mako, Rosa, and Cori with expert efficiency.
• Maintain readiness for call-back with a minimum 2-hour response time.
• Collaborate closely with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and procedural success.
• Participate in call rotations including weekends and holidays.
• Adhere to credentialing and orientation requirements prior to start.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CST or Surgical Tech in orthopedic surgery, with expertise in robotics and spine procedures.
• Familiarity with fast-paced surgical environments and advanced robotic systems (Mako, Rosa, Cori).
• Certification by NBSTSA preferred but not required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to respond to on-call duties within a 2-hour window.
• Must reside within a 30-minute commute of the hospital.

Schedule:

• 10-hour day shifts with call responsibilities on weekends and holidays, rotating on-call schedule.
