This opportunity is ideal for experienced Surgical Technologists or CSTs specializing in orthopedic and spine procedures. Located in Cicero, IL, this contract role is with a busy, 111-bed specialty hospital focused on orthopedics and spine care. The surgical environment includes a 20-bed operating room, with 17-18 rooms in frequent use, delivering a fast-paced, high-demand setting that offers exposure to robotics and advanced surgical techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support orthopedic surgical procedures including general orthopedics, hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine, total joint replacements, and spine operations.
  • Assist with robotic surgeries using Mako, Rosa, and Cori systems.
  • Maintain readiness for call-back duties with a 2-hour minimum response time.
  • Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure efficient patient care and safety.
  • Participate in call rotations for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a CST or Surgical Technologist working in orthopedic specialties.
  • Familiarity with robotics in surgery and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced OR environment.
  • Certification by NBSTSA preferred but not mandatory.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital to meet call-back requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and reliability during call rotations.

Schedule & Details:

  • 10-hour day shifts with call responsibilities.
  • Call rotations include weekends and holidays.
  • Start date within two weeks of credential completion.
  • Credentialing paperwork (DS, CBC, and recent TB tests) due by Thursday prior to start.
