Provide expert surgical technology support throughout trauma, orthopedic, neurological, general, and vascular procedures in a Level II Trauma Center environment. This position offers a contract opportunity with 12-hour night shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting at 6:30 p.m. Serving a 492-bed facility that also houses a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center, the role demands strong experience with a diverse case mix including robotics and endovascular techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support surgical teams in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, vascular (including endovascular), general, ENT, gyn, urology, plastics, and orthopedic cases, including spine and joint centers.
  • Utilize robotic systems such as Mazor and DaVinci XI for general and neuro surgeries.
  • Coordinate with charge nurses, team leaders, and OR assistants to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to patient care standards within a 1:1 patient ratio.
  • Use EMR systems including Cerner, and operate IV pumps (Plum 360), medication dispensing units (Omnicell), and monitors (Spacelabs).
  • Participate in a two-week day shift orientation with buddy call responsibilities.
  • Follow on-call schedules and holiday work expectations as outlined.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • At least 2 years of surgical technology experience; first-time travelers considered with this minimum experience.
  • Preferred certification as a surgical tech, though not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in trauma, neuro, vascular, general, and robotic surgeries.
  • Competence in vascular tech procedures like AAA, carotids, AVG, AVF, bypasses, and endovascular techniques preferred.
  • Familiarity with Open Heart CVOR procedures is a plus but not required.
