This contract opportunity focuses on delivering high-quality surgical support in a fast-paced setting, offering the chance to provide critical assistance in transplant and spine procedures.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Includes night and weekend call rotation

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid DORA certification required
  • NBSTSA certification required
  • Demonstrated operating room experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Transplant and/or spine surgery experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and respond proactively to surgical team needs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining sterile technique and adhering to hospital protocols at all times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for assigned procedures, ensuring all required supplies and equipment are available and sterile
  • Provide direct support to surgeons, passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs during complex procedures including transplant and spine operations
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments, and sharps according to policy during procedures
  • Respond to call-ins during scheduled night and weekend periods as part of the OR team’s rotation
  • Collaborate closely with nursing, surgical, and anesthesia staff to foster a patient-focused environment
  • Engage in post-procedure clean-up and ready the operating room for the next case
