Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Includes night and weekend call rotation
Qualifications:
- Current and valid DORA certification required
- NBSTSA certification required
- Demonstrated operating room experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Transplant and/or spine surgery experience strongly preferred
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and respond proactively to surgical team needs
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to maintaining sterile technique and adhering to hospital protocols at all times
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room for assigned procedures, ensuring all required supplies and equipment are available and sterile
- Provide direct support to surgeons, passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs during complex procedures including transplant and spine operations
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments, and sharps according to policy during procedures
- Respond to call-ins during scheduled night and weekend periods as part of the OR team’s rotation
- Collaborate closely with nursing, surgical, and anesthesia staff to foster a patient-focused environment
- Engage in post-procedure clean-up and ready the operating room for the next case
