Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Proven experience as Surgical Tech – Certified, with strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation
- Experience assisting in a range of surgical procedures alongside nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety standards in operating room environments
- Strong communication skills, detail-oriented, and ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
- Adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons and perioperative nursing staff during operational procedures
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes are properly arranged
- Maintain accuracy with counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs and respond rapidly to requests during surgeries
- Practice strict adherence to aseptic techniques to ensure patient and staff safety
- Support preoperative and postoperative patient care activities, including room turn-over and equipment sterilization
- Collaborate closely with surgical and anesthesia teams for seamless patient experiences
