Contribute your expertise in the operating room as a skilled surgical team member, supporting patient care and smooth OR suite operations. This contract position seeks professionals with experience in nursing or surgical technology—both certified and non-certified applicants are welcome.

Schedule:

  • 10:30 a.m. start time
  • Required every other weekend for two scheduled shifts
  • On-call: 12 hours on weekends, 20 hours on weekdays per four-week period (30-minute response time)
  • Weekend on-call in addition to regular weekend shifts
  • One shift per pay period may be canceled without pay

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Background in Orthopedic, Neuro, and Robotic procedures
  • Credentialed as Nursing-ORT, Surgical Tech-Certified, or Surgical Tech-Non-certified
  • Up-to-date on TB Testing, licensing and certification, HIPAA, safety, and compliance training
  • Strong anticipation of surgical needs and ability to support physicians during procedures
  • Adherence to ethical standards and healthcare regulations
  • Experience in documentation, instrument/tray counts, and updating preference cards

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and essential operating room support
  • Apply knowledge of OR procedures, including assisting with dressings, casts, and instrument setup
  • Pick cases according to physician preference and maintain organized, complete trays
  • Ensure documentation and communication of vital case data, including counts and exceptions
  • Take initiative to identify and address issues that improve care quality and department efficiency
  • Fulfill at least one task that goes beyond routine responsibilities
  • Participate in departmental teaching and generate suggestions for process improvement or cost containment
