Step into a dynamic surgical environment within a high-acuity, Magnet-designated, Level 1 trauma teaching hospital known for its advanced patient care and collaborative culture. This contract opportunity offers Operating Room Technicians (ORT) or Certified Surgical Technologists the chance to contribute to a highly skilled, supportive team specializing in a wide range of complex surgical procedures.
Schedule & Hours
- 12-hour day shifts: 0700-1900 (36 hours/week)
- Weekly late call: 1900-2300, once per week
- Weekend call rotation: One shift every 6-8 weeks (0600 Saturday – 0600 Monday; call only)
- Expectation to cover 50% of holidays during the contract
- No floating required
- Free parking; all scrubs provided (including extended sizing)
Qualifications Needed
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center (required)
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program
- BLS certification (required); CST strongly preferred
- Strong skills in ortho trauma, head/neck free flaps, plastics reconstruction, and microsurgery
- Proficiency in cases including general, orthopedic trauma, GYN, neuro spine, neuro oncology, plastics, oncology, and robotic/laparoscopic procedures
- Experience with the DaVinci XI robotic system and advanced reconstructive surgeries
- Not open to first-time travelers
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Key Duties
- Assist in surgical procedures across diverse specialties, including transplant, minimally invasive, and complex reconstructive surgeries
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative support staff
- Utilize EPIC (EMR), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell technology effectively
- Engage in orientation and ongoing education as supported by a dedicated clinical supervisor and leadership
