Operating Room Technician - Gastonia, NC

This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician seeking to join a respected surgical team. You will play an essential role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment, and assisting the operating room team throughout pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 36 hours per week
• On call: 3–4 weeknight calls (12 hours, 7 PM – 7 AM) per 6-week period
• 1–2 weekend on-call shifts per 6-week schedule (day or night, Saturday or Sunday)
• Participation in call rotation for holidays
• No required weekend rotation outside of on-call
• No floating between departments

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician
• Proven experience assisting in a variety of surgical procedures
• Strong understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams
• Up-to-date BLS certification and all required immunizations/records

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready
• Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining sterility
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment with accuracy and care
• Support patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery
• Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in call rotation as detailed above, including holidays

$1,573 - $1,664/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
