Operating Room Technician | Gresham, Oregon

Seeking a skilled professional with expertise in Nursing - ORT or Certified Surgical Technology for a dynamic operating room team. This contract opportunity spans 13 weeks, offering a chance to work in a collaborative surgical environment with a dedicated clinical staff.

Schedule:

• 10-hour day shifts, 6:45am–5:15pm
• Specific days will be addressed during the interview process

Required Qualifications:

• Active certification as a Surgical Technologist or extensive ORT nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in the operating room
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR protocols
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field for diverse procedures
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff throughout the perioperative period
• Manage instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations
• Ensure accurate surgical counts and help prevent retained surgical items
• Support surgical safety protocols and infection prevention measures
• Collaborate closely with the entire surgical team to provide optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor and respond to the operational needs of the surgical suite
