Operating Room Technician in Hillsdale, MI

An exciting contract opportunity is available for certified surgical technologists or experienced nursing professionals with operating room technician (ORT) skills. This position offers a chance to make a real difference by supporting surgical teams and patients in a dynamic medical environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time hours available
• Shifts may include day, evening, or rotating schedules, depending on assignment needs

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (required)
• Experience as a Nursing Operating Room Technician (ORT) highly preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient-focused attitude
• Ability to adapt quickly and function efficiently in high-pressure situations

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, sterile drapes, and equipment
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures with technical and clinical support
• Maintain a sterile field and support infection control protocols
• Monitor and account for all surgical tools and materials throughout procedures
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to create a safe and effective environment
• Assist in post-surgical room cleanup and equipment sterilization
• Support patients’ well-being through attentive, compassionate care
