Operating Room Technician in Hillsdale, MI

Seeking a skilled professional to provide support as a Certified Surgical Technologist (ORT) on a contract basis. This role will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures and excellent patient outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

• Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Nursing - Operating Room Technician (ORT)
• Demonstrated experience assisting with a range of surgical procedures
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control practices
• Ability to set up, maintain, and handle surgical instruments and equipment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively under pressure
• Current BLS certification required

Schedule/Hours:

• Flexible scheduling may be available depending on department needs
• Contract duration to be specified during the interview process

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms before procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations by passing instruments and supplies
• Maintain the sterile field throughout the procedure, monitoring for breaks in protocol
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly and accurately
• Properly handle specimens and ensure correct documentation
• Assist in room and equipment turnover between cases
