A dynamic surgical team is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to support a busy operating suite, handling a wide array of advanced surgical cases at a leading teaching hospital with over 900 licensed beds and Level 1 Trauma Center designation. This opportunity features collaboration with a robust perioperative team in an innovative environment that serves a diverse surgical population, including general, transplant, minimally invasive, robotics, oncology, orthopedic trauma, neuro spine, plastics, and complex head/neck cases.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour day shifts (0700-1900), 36 hours per week
  • Late call from 1900-2300 once weekly
  • Weekend call shift every 6-8 weeks (0600 Saturday–0600 Monday, 1-hour response time)
  • Holiday coverage: Expected to work 50% of holidays during the assignment
  • No floating outside the department

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center OR (Level III or below not accepted)
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
  • BLS required; CST certification highly preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general, robotic (DaVinci XI), transplant, GYN, ortho trauma, plastics (including head/neck free flaps), and microsurgery
  • Strong ortho trauma and head/neck plastics experience required
  • EMR experience with EPIC; familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide surgical scrub assistance on complex procedures as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Maintain aseptic technique and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and technology
  • Collaborate with RNs, anesthesia, and support staff to optimize patient safety and clinical outcomes
  • Participate in scheduled call rotations and respond promptly to emergency cases
