Operating Room Technician in Jackson, MI

An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled professional with experience in operating room technology and certified surgical technology. This contract position offers the chance to provide vital support during surgical procedures, collaborating with talented surgical teams in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Schedule:

• Three 12-hour shifts weekly, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM CST
• One on-call shift per week
• Every 6th weekend required
• 36 hours per week, 12 hours per shift
• Assignment dates: November 2, 2026 – January 30, 2027

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Experience as an Operating Room Technician or Certified Surgical Technologist
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program preferred, but not required
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, maintain, and organize surgical instruments and equipment prior to and during surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team, ensuring an aseptic environment and supporting optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor and maintain supplies throughout operative cases
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards
• Respond efficiently during emergencies and support surgical staff as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote a culture of patient-focused care
