Surgical Scrub Tech | Kaleva, Michigan

Skilled certified surgical technologists are sought for a specialized role supporting a busy operating room team. This contract position offers exposure to a diverse range of surgical cases and the opportunity to work within a professional and collaborative environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 24–40 hours per week, based on surgical volume
• No weekends or holidays required
• On-call responsibilities: 10–11 days/month, 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM Monday through Friday
• Overtime available after 40 hours per week; no guaranteed hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to facilitate efficient and safe surgical procedures
• Set up and maintain a sterile field for various cases, including ortho, general surgery, endoscopy, GYN, ENT, podiatry, urology, ophthalmology, and dental procedures
• Assist in preparing and passing instruments and supplies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness during operations
• Adhere to strict infection control and patient safety protocols throughout all phases of care
• Maintain, clean, and restock operating room equipment and supplies as required
• Respond promptly and reliably to on-call assignments
• Document interventions and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Current CST certification required
• Active BLS certification
• Experience in an operating room setting with exposure to the listed service lines preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to respond effectively in fast-paced environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
