Operating Room Technician | Lakewood, Ohio

Step into a crucial surgical support role at a dynamic healthcare facility staffed with advanced technology and dedicated professionals. This contract opportunity spans 13 weeks, offering the chance to work alongside top-tier surgeons and healthcare specialists in a collaborative environment.

Schedule:

• Five 8-hour shifts per week
• Midday schedule: 11:45am–7:45pm

Desired Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician (ORT)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated experience assisting with ophthalmic (eye) procedures, including posterior eye surgery and eye trauma cases
• Proficient with DaVinci XI robotic-assisted surgery equipment
• Adaptability and willingness to float between two operating departments as needed—main base will be a 7-room inpatient/outpatient unit, with occasional assignments in a larger 26-room, Level 1 trauma OR suite

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments per established protocols
• Scrub, gown, and assist surgical teams with a variety of cases, with emphasis on eye/ophthalmic procedures
• Maintain a sterile field and anticipate surgeons’ needs throughout surgical procedures
• Efficiently manage instruments, supplies, and specimens in compliance with safety regulations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient care
• Flexibly float to different departments as required by case volume and workflow
