Operating Room Technician - Macon, GA

Step into a dynamic surgical environment at a large, trauma-designated teaching hospital renowned for excellence in patient care. This opportunity involves working in a state-of-the-art main operating room with 20 OR suites and 2 Cysto rooms, supporting a full spectrum of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, robotic, and cardiovascular procedures.

Schedule/Hours:

• 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM), 40 hours per week
• On-call requirements: 6-9 shifts per month, including weekends and holidays
• Schedule follows a 6-week cycle
• Rotating call schedule; details discussed during interview

Key Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program; CST certification strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ recent general OR experience required, 5 years for cardiovascular OR
• Experience with a variety of surgical cases, such as GYN, plastics, robotics, ortho, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular procedures
• Proficiency using EPIC Optime (Intraoperative EMR), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, and Philips monitors
• Strong commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and inclusive care

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgeons and RNs in the preparation and execution of surgical procedures
• Anticipate needs for instruments, equipment, and supplies based on complex surgical interventions
• Uphold sterile technique and safety protocols at all times
• Provide intraoperative and immediate postoperative support to the care team
• Participate in unit-wide efforts for continuous improvement and compliance
