Step into a dynamic operating room environment at a leading teaching hospital recognized for its Level 1 Trauma Designation, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center excellence. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled Surgical Technologists ready to participate in a collaborative, safety-focused culture.
Schedule & On-Call:
- 10-hour day shifts, 7:00am–5:00pm
- 40 hours per week
- 6–9 on-call shifts per month, including weekends and holiday call
Requirements & Qualifications:
- For General OR: minimum 2 years’ recent experience
- For CVOR: at least 5 years’ experience
- Current BLS certification
- For CSTs: graduation from an accredited program, CST certification preferred
- Experience with a wide variety of cases, including General Surgery (GYN, ENT, Robotics, Plastics), Orthopedics (joint replacement, trauma), Ortho spine, Neurosurgery, and Cardiovascular (open heart, valve, vascular)
- Proficiency documented during interview
- Willingness to be considered even as a first-time traveler, based on clinical background
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgical procedures across 20 OR rooms and additional specialty suites
- Support surgeons and nurses to maintain a sterile, safe environment
- Prepare OR, equipment, and instruments for diverse surgical cases
- Flexibility to take call as scheduled; reliable attendance for holiday and weekend call shifts
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and hospital policies
- Utilize EMR (EPIC Optime), Pyxis for medication, Alaris IV pumps, and Phillips monitoring systems
