Step into the vital world of surgical care at a renowned teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma Center designation. As a contract surgical technologist or operating room nurse, you’ll play an essential role in supporting a 20-suite operating department that handles a diverse range of procedures—including general, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, and robotic surgeries.

Schedule & Shift Details:

  • 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Typical hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • On-call requirement: 6-9 call shifts monthly, including holiday call
  • Weekend and holiday rotations involve scheduled on-call coverage

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in general operating room (OR) cases; five years preferred for cardiovascular roles
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred; must have graduated from an accredited program
  • BLS certification required; additional credentials depending on nursing or surgical tech pathways
  • Experience with various surgical techniques and patient cases as detailed above
  • Comfortable with EPIC Optime, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and patient safety
  • Maintain and prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments
  • Participate in call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Support the clinical team and ensure effective communication and workflow
  • Occasional floating to cover all surgical cases within the department
