An experienced Surgical Technologist is needed to support a busy operating room environment in Matthews, NC. This contract position offers the opportunity to work within a large hospital setting, assisting in a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedic, spine, general surgery, robotic, urology, gynecology, plastics, and more. Surgical Technologists will be expected to maintain a high standard of patient care, demonstrate proficiency in case preparation and intraoperative support, and collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile field for surgeries across multiple specialties
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies efficiently
- Assist in positioning patients and adjusting surgical equipment
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Respond to call requirements with a 30-minute response time, including night and weekend coverage
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain competency
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory; National Surgical Technologist certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience across various specialties (including orthopedic, CVOR, robotic procedures)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, primarily 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some variation and call duties
- Strong communication and teamwork skills essential

Additional Details:
- 12-hour day shifts, primarily 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Call schedule includes 3-4 weeknight and 1-2 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle

- Orientation lasts one week, with the possibility of extended training for specific OR specialties
- Contract position with manager-conducted final clinical interview
