Surgical Technologists play a pivotal role in dynamic hospital operating rooms, partnering with skilled surgical teams to care for patients facing a diverse range of procedures. This contract opportunity focuses on perioperative support in a high-acuity, fast-paced, and supportive environment.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour day shifts (0700-1900), totaling 36 hours per week
  • Late call from 1900-2300 once weekly
  • Weekend call rotation: one shift every 6-8 weeks (Saturday 0600 – Monday 0600)
  • 1-hour response time required for call shifts
  • Expectation to cover 50% of holidays during assignment

Qualifications/Desired Background:

  • Minimum two years of surgical technologist experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (CST preferred, not required)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Demonstrated experience with general, transplant, ortho trauma, minimally invasive, robotics (DaVinci XI), neuro spine, neuro head/brain, plastics, and microsurgery cases
  • Proficiency with orthopedic trauma and head/neck free flaps
  • Cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Prior travel assignment experience required

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, scrub, and assist for a wide variety of surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge RNs, clinical supervisors, anesthesia/CRNA team, and OR assistants
  • Uphold highest infection control and sterile technique standards
  • Operate and maintain state-of-the-art equipment, including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell
  • Participate in robust department orientation and ongoing education
  • Adhere to collaborative scheduling and punctual attendance practices
