Operating Room Technician - Mentor, OH

Seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician for a contract role supporting a dynamic surgical services team. This opportunity offers a 13-week assignment in a level 3 trauma center environment, requiring versatility and rapid response skills.

Schedule/Hours:

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00am–5:30pm)
• Call required: anticipate 1 call per week, beginning at 5:30pm through 7:00am the following day
• One weekend call (either Saturday or Sunday, 7:00am–7:00am) every 5 weeks
• Mandate calls required for unscheduled coverage needs

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Surgical Tech (CST) or registered ORT
• Demonstrated experience in scrubbing orthopedic total joints, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures
• Prior experience in a trauma center or high-acuity surgical environment strongly preferred
• Ability to comply with call response requirements (must be able to report to the facility within 30 minutes of call)
• Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
• Commitment to patient safety and high-quality surgical support

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up the operating room with necessary tools and sterile environment prior to procedures
• Scrub and assist on orthopedic total joints, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries
• Collaborate efficiently with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain vigilance with infection control protocols, instrument handling, and count integrity
• Respond promptly and effectively to call shifts, including nights and occasional weekends
• Adhere to established trauma center standards and contribute positively to patient care team dynamics
