Operating Room Technician | Millbrook, Alabama

This contract position is ideal for individuals who excel in the dynamic environment of the surgical suite and are dedicated to supporting patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Nursing or surgical technology background, ORT or Surgical Tech certification preferred
• Experience assisting with surgical procedures in an acute care or hospital setting
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a high standard of care
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring equipment and tools are sterile and properly arranged
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by passing instruments and handling supplies
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly during operations
• Monitor patients and provide support as needed before and after procedures
• Adhere to established safety and infection control protocols at all times
• Accurately document interventions and communicate effectively with colleagues
