Operating Room Technician - Millbrook, AL

Take on an essential role supporting surgical teams in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. This contract position offers the chance to use your expertise in surgical technology or operating room technology across a diverse patient population, with the opportunity to work with advanced robotics and specialty procedures.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday (6:30p–7a)
• Weekend on-call rotation; call per service line (excluding Open Heart) one day weekly (3p–7a), and one weekend monthly (Friday 3p–Monday 7a)
• Holiday coverage required as stipulated in contract

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of recent surgical experience; 1-year experience not accepted
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist strongly preferred, but not required
• Proven skills in Trauma (excluding burns), Neuro, General, Vascular, ENT, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Breast, Eyes, and Robotic procedures (Robotic Mazor/DaVinci XI)
• Experience with endovascular procedures a plus
• Orientation includes 2 weeks on day shift; must be able to take buddy call during orientation
• Will consider first-time travelers meeting the experience requirement

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in surgical procedures across trauma, neuro, and specialty cases
• Work collaboratively with the OR team: Desk Assistants, ORAs, First Assistants, Charge Nurse, and Service Line Leaders
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Accurately document in Cerner EMR; utilize Plum 360 pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors
• Adapt to the needs of a Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU with a wide procedural spectrum

$1,462 - $1,591/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
