Seeking an experienced surgical technologist or nursing professional for a crucial caregiver role with on-site coverage during overnight weekend shifts. This contract opportunity calls for specialized skills and a dedication to supporting a Level II Trauma Center. The assignment focuses on providing direct patient care in a 15-bed unit, with an emphasis on complex surgical cases.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week)
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 6:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m.
Qualifications:
- Strong clinical background in Trauma (no burns), Neuro, General, Vascular, ENT, Gyn, Urology, Robotics (General/Neuro), Plastics, Breast, and Eyes
- Surgical Tech: Certified or Non-certified accepted; Certification preferred
- Robust robotics experience strongly preferred (Mazor/DaVinci XI)
- 2+ years of recent relevant experience required (not accepting less than one year)
- Prior exposure to minimal pediatric cases (primarily Ortho) beneficial
- CVOR/Open Heart expertise optional (ORT roles do not require)
- Willingness and ability to participate in on-call and holiday rotations
- Proficient with Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors
Responsibilities:
- Scrub and assist in a broad array of surgical procedures with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in trauma and neuro cases
- Function collaboratively with ORAs, desk assistants, First Assists, charge nurses, and service line team leaders
- Participate in orientation (two weeks, days, with buddy call)
- Take scheduled on-call shifts (excluding Open Heart service line)
- Maintain standards of care and adapt to evolving case needs within the OR setting
