Job Type Contract

Take on a dynamic role in the Main Operating Room at a premier teaching hospital designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center and recognized Chest Pain and Stroke Center. This contract opportunity calls for an experienced Surgical Technologist or ORT, making a critical impact in a state-of-the-art environment with 20 advanced OR suites and 2 cystoscopy rooms.

Schedule & Hours

  • 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • 40-hour work week
  • 6–9 call shifts per month, including weekend and holiday call rotations
  • Expectation to participate in a 6-week scheduling cycle

Qualifications

  • For General OR: Minimum 2 years’ experience required
  • For Cardiovascular OR (CVOR): Minimum 5 years’ experience required
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program
  • BLS certification required; CST certification preferred
  • Experience with complex cases: General surgery, ortho, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular procedures
  • Comfort with EMR (EPIC Optime), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensers, and Phillips monitors

Responsibilities

  • Scrub and assist in a variety of surgical cases including GYN, general, plastics, ENT, robotics, ortho, neuro, and cardiovascular surgeries
  • Maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety under high-paced, trauma and routine surgical scenarios
  • Collaborate with a diverse surgical team focused on inclusivity, patient safety, and cooperative workflow
  • Participate in departmental call schedule, including holidays and weekends as needed
  • Adhere to facility procedures during a comprehensive 1-week orientation
