Operating Room Technician | Milledgeville, Georgia

Seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to contribute to a dedicated surgical team within a large, acute care teaching hospital. This role is ideal for professionals skilled in Nursing - ORT and Certified Surgical Tech, ready to take on diverse cases in a dynamic main operating room environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• 10-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Call requirements: 6-9 call shifts per month, including weekend and holiday call rotations

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub and assist on a full spectrum of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, plastics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, and robotic cases
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and operating room setup according to each case type
• Coordinate closely with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and operating room efficiency
• Collaborate with various specialists to achieve optimal surgical outcomes for all patient populations
• Utilize EPIC Optime (Intraop), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispense systems, and Phillips monitors

Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in a general OR setting; at least 5 years’ experience required for CVOR cases
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program; CST certification preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and instrumentation
• Willing to be considered as a first-time traveler based on prior experience
