This opportunity is for an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse with Operating Room Training, ready to bring expertise to a busy, high-acuity surgical environment. Located in Milledgeville, GA, this contract role offers a dynamic setting with diverse surgical cases across multiple specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for a variety of cases including GYN, plastics, orthopedic trauma, neuro spine, and open heart surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.
- Manage intraoperative technology and equipment such as EPIC Optime EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips patient monitors.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, averaging 6-9 call shifts per month.
- Follow facility protocols and perform in a team-oriented environment focused on patient safety and inclusion.
- Complete a one-week orientation to hospital systems and unit culture.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in general OR; 5 years preferred for cardiovascular OR.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology or nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential strongly preferred.
- Ability to work 10-hour day shifts (7 AM – 5 PM) with call responsibilities.
- Willingness to perform all surgical case types as required.
