This opportunity is for an experienced Surgical Technologist skilled in Operating Room Techniques. Located in Monroe, NC, this contract role offers a dynamic surgical environment where you will apply your expertise in a busy main OR with a variety of case types. The position requires strong proficiency in multiple surgical specialties and the ability to respond swiftly when on call.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments and equipment for various procedures.
- Assist surgical teams during operations, ensuring sterile technique and proper instrument handling.
- Manage surgical supplies and maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures.
- Support patient positioning and equipment operation as needed.
- Participate in a call rotation with prompt response expectations and overnight shift coverage.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist education program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum of two years of OR experience preferred, ideally with exposure to orthopedic, general, robotic, urology, gynecology, plastics, and specialized surgeries such as spine and cardiovascular.
- Ability to handle call requirements including weeknight and weekend shifts with a 30-minute response time.
- Flexibility to work primarily 12-hour day shifts with some evening and weekend variations.
Schedule & Call Requirements:
- 12-hour shifts, primarily 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Three to four weeknight calls and one to two weekend shifts per six-week schedule.
- Sleep rooms available during on-call periods.
