Surgical Technologist in Monroe, NC

Step into a dynamic surgical environment supporting a bustling main operating room that averages 45 procedures per day. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced perioperative team, with robust weekday support that includes OR assistants, charge nurses, and anesthesia coverage around the clock.

Schedule:

• 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• Rotating call commitment: 3-4 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) per 6-week cycle
• Holidays covered by call rotation
• Response time for call: 30 minutes (sleep room available)
• Schedule finalized in a 6-week cycle

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' experience scrubbing in orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colon, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastics cases
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
• Current BLS certification
• National surgical technologist certification preferred
• Open to first-time travelers
• Must maintain a permanent address at least 50 miles from unit

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs during a wide variety of procedures
• Ensure proper care and handling of surgical instruments and supplies
• Support safe patient positioning and room turnover
• Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records and work with advanced OR technology including Alaris pumps, Omnicell dispensing, and Phillips monitoring equipment
