Seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician to provide essential support in a dynamic operating room environment. This contract role involves working 12-hour night shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting at 6:30 PM. The setting is a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center with advanced case mix, including trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and vascular procedures.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or related nursing program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent operating room experience; travelers require more than 2 years’ relevant experience
- In-depth experience in trauma and neuro surgeries is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in general, vascular, ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, breast, and robotic procedures (strong preference for DaVinci XI and Mazor robotic experience)
- Ability to work collaboratively under pressure and respond efficiently in urgent situations
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance to the surgical team during complex trauma, neuro, and vascular cases
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and proactively prepare instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques
- Participate in orientation including 2 weeks on day shift and take buddy call as required
- Fulfill on-call rotations for every service line except Open Heart (one day per week and one weekend per month)
- Work assigned holidays as per contract requirements
- Ensure safe and timely patient care, adhering to established protocols and patient safety standards

$1,462 - $1,591/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
