Key Qualifications:
- Current national certification as a Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician
- Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum of one year experience in an operating room setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to anticipate the surgeon’s needs and respond promptly during procedures
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment ahead of procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques throughout surgical cases
- Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses by passing instruments and providing needed supplies during surgeries
- Account for surgical instruments, sharps, and sponges before, during, and after procedures
- Ensure thorough cleaning, sterilization, and restocking of the operating room post-procedure
- Support patient safety initiatives and infection control policies at all times
