Operating Room Technician - North Charleston, South Carolina

Required Skills & Experience:

• Active certification as a Surgical Technologist
• Prior experience as an ORT or in a perioperative nursing role
• Thorough understanding of aseptic techniques and sterile processing
• Proficiency with surgical instrumentation and operating room protocols
• Solid communication and teamwork skills for effective intraoperative collaboration
• Strong attention to detail with ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room with all necessary equipment and sterile supplies
• Assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, maintaining strict aseptic conditions
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently and safely during surgeries
• Monitor and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures
• Support pre- and post-operative patient care as needed
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated and processed
• Accurately document patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies
